Monetize Your Blog: How to make money blogging
A suggestion I had read and that I think is a great step towards making money from your Website or blog is to implement Google ads right from the start. I am most familiar with Google adsense, and affiliate ads like cj.com and clickbank.com to name a few.
Google ads are often generated based on the existing content of the Website or blog on which they appear. Affiliate ads are great because you can pick and choose what types of complimentary ads to place on your blog or site.

This author’s blog is targeted to African American women, but the blog entry that I linked to is a great example of the relevant industry commentary that you should strive to provide; regardless, of who your market is, on your own blog or site. In this entry she talks about how the publishing industry has gone through some serious changes and the days of authors just being able to show up and throw up are over. Nowadays, authors have to be the sales and marketing force behind their book as well as the creative producer. She goes on to provide a great equation for how the nuvo business model should look for an author or anyone trying to gain a following.
For those of you who want to create a Blogger account, it is very easy to setup. WordPress is another popular blog platform. Both Blogger and WordPress are fairly easy to setup. However, they are both complicated to customize or style beyond the standard templates.
