Should I Get The iPad?
When we first heard the announcement of the iPads impending arrival we began to consider it as a potential sales tool. We had been tossing around the idea of getting a Mac Book Air to display our portfolio pieces while out on sales calls or presentations, but began to consider the iPad as a serious contender for the job.
We contemplated camping out in front of an Apple store on April 3rd but decided to live dangerously and pre-ordered it instead. In the two weeks since the Apple stork delivered our little bundle of joy, we’ve become increasingly convinced that the iPad was the right choice. Whether at a networking event, making a sales call or sitting at H&R Block waiting to get reamed on our income taxes, there’s always someone with a question, a comment or unsolicited opinion about our iPad.
We’ve gotten 3 new clients from these random iPad inquiries. The iPad is bait on a hook and brings your clients to you. Now you don’t have to be the jerk at networking events who interjects themselves into conversations because the iPad is the ultimate conversation piece. People want to talk about how it doesn’t have an Operating System, a camera, and it can’t make a cappuccino, but they still want to come up to us and tell us their thoughts.
Whether people love it or they hate it they want to ask our opinion and what we think. While it doesn’t revolutionize the tech industry, it is the newest piece of technology out there and having it says that you’re at the forefront.
Have you had any success stories with the iPad. Let us know what you think, we would love to hear what your thoughts or experiences are regarding Apple’s new iPad.
