The GUI – er Your Web Design The Better

GUI (Pronounced Gooey) – Graphic User Interface
A GUI is used to describe a human – computer interface i.e., a way for users (humans who use computers) to interact with computers that uses icons, windows, and menus that can be manipulated by a mouse and keyboard.

So instead of this very uninteresting user interface:

You see this engaging graphic user interface (GUI):

How does this relate to my Website you ask? Clearly users  prefer a well designed graphic user interface vs one that is mainly text. Knowing that people who use a computer prefer a graphic experience one should draw the conclusion that the same principle applies to Web design. People visiting your Website don’t want to view a sea of text and poorly sized images.

Having a GUI (gooey) looking Website will benefit:

  • Engage the visitors and users of your site
  • Create a buzz about your great service
  • Facilitate an enjoyable experience
  • Convert visitors to customers / subscribers
  • Give visitors a reason to bookmark your site for future reference

Your Website has the potential to be one of the most inspiring sales presentations that you will ever make. So the more interesting, exciting, graphic and user friendly you can make it the better.
